With 3.6 million tonnes of production capacity, our network of malthouses is built around proximity. By operating close to barley growers, customer sites and key transport routes, we help simplify logistics, reduce supply chain complexity and move malt with fewer emissions by sea, rail or road.
Our maltsters
Behind every batch of malt is a team of skilled maltsters who understand the craft inside out. They bring together centuries of malting craftsmanship and modern innovation to create quality premium malts for some of the world’s most iconic brands.
Our teams continuously monitor and refine every stage of the malting process. They balance time, temperature, moisture and germination conditions, carefully optimising every variable to achieve exceptional quality, consistency and performance for every batch.
Malting operations
Malting is a controlled process, and precision at every stage matters. By selecting the right grain and carefully managing steeping, germination, kilning and roasting, our teams control enzyme development and flavour formation to deliver malt that meets customers’ exact performance and taste specifications.
Digital and operational excellence
Our global operating system uses advanced technologies and precise process control to deliver consistent, high-quality malt more efficiently. By optimising energy use and applying smarter monitoring systems, we reduce greenhouse gas emissions across our operations.
MALTimize, our innovative data platform is accelerating AI driven transformation across our production and business operations. Designed to provide teams with a single source of truth for all data on one platform, MALTimize enables faster, more accurate decision-making.
The same focus extends to water, where our patented MULTISTEEP technology helps us to treat and reuse process water directly at our malthouses. At our Inverness facility in Scotland we are saving more than a million litres of water every year using this technology.
