THE SOUL OF CZECH PILSNERS

About Tchecomalt

Czech Republic | Founded in 1869

With over 150 years of heritage as the oldest malthouse in Prostějov, Tchecomalt is the benchmark for authentic Czech malt.

Dedicated to the art of Czech malting and true to the ancestral floor malting process, it transforms the finest barley from the Haná triangle, known as the ‘malt capital’ into the essential ingredients for the celebrated Czech-style Pilsner and other creative brews.

As the largest malt producer in the Czech Republic, Tchecomalt exports to 42 countries and offers a wide assortment of malts, from classic Czech Pilsen malt to more specialty malts. With a very long tradition of malting, this is a brand that is proud of the historical Tchecomalt trademark.

An ancient, precious ingredient

Czech beers boast a legacy spanning nearly a millennium, owing to the meticulous malting of exceptional barley cultivated in regions esteemed for their fertile soils, pristine water sources and idyllic climates.

Over the years, generations of malsters working under the Tchecomalt brand have collaborated with local cultivators to curate an exclusive array of brewing barleys that enrich malts with the distinctive sensory characteristics of genuine Pilsner beers, now celebrated around the world.

Honouring ancestral malting practices

The Litovel site, erected in 1890, specialises in the production of roasted malts using a time-honoured processing technique known as floor malting. Floor malting involves the germination of barley without forced ventilation, which gives it an aromatic profile that is found only in this region.

Whether new or old, all our production facilities are constantly being modernised to improve our industrial performance, meet the strictest quality criteria and contribute to reducing our environmental footprint.
